I originally built this system 3 years ago and it didn't hiss in games so clearly a) it doesn't have to and b) I missed a step, but I don't remember what that step could be. The speakers are great, they work, and the hissing is only in games I'm running on 4k, I don't want to replace them, especially since most other speakers are also USB and I'd have the same problem I suspect.
